"But it won't be warm enough" This has to be the most asked question and if anyone was to seriously think about it the most unnecessary question of them all Let's look at
the facts - "But timber buildings won't withstand the UK weather ?" Eco Build Property are importing houses of various styles and sizes that have been built and lived in some of the most extreme environments man is likely to inhabit - Canada and Latvia - the extremes in these two countries are far more greater the UK will ever be - how does -40 in the winter, with 3 foot of snow for 5 months, followed by 1 month of melt water then 5 months of heat that can rise to +70 - these houses withstand these types of temperatures for many many decades with little more than a new coat of paint or varnish every few years and nowadays we can even offer wood that won't need any maintenance for life - AND THAT'S GUARANTEED "Won't wooden houses get termites?" In a nut shell - no. All our wood is treated at source and granted a Phyto Sanitary Certificate to confirm that 1: the wood has been treated prior to being used 2: that this treatment undertaken confirms that no wood boring pests etc are present 3: the treatment and preventative maintenance once constructed will prevent any termites or wood boring pests at any time - they are not a problem to properly built and prepared wooden houses "What about rot?" Rot can always be a problem in wood when not treated properly or pre-treated before being used in construction - Eco Build pre-treat all the wood used in all of our houses and wood products - all panels come supplied with the certificates and "wooden passports" attached so they can be seen by the relevant inspection bodies - in the UK this is the Forestry Commission and in Canada this is the Canadian Food Agency.
